Photoelectric switch: the working principle and characteristics of photoelectric switch

Time:2022-08-02 Views:

1. The working principle of the photoelectric switch:

The photoelectric switch utilizes the blocking or reflection of the light beam by the object being detected, and the synchronization loop gates the circuit to detect the presence or absence of the blocking object. All objects that can reflect light can be detected. The photoelectric switch converts the input current into a light signal on the transmitting device and emits the light signal, and then the receiving device detects the target object according to the intensity or presence of the received light. Most photoelectric switches use infrared light waves with wavelengths close to visible light.

    2. Features of photoelectric switch:

   (1) The test distance is long. Compared with inductive proximity switches, photoelectric switches can achieve longer test distances.

   (2) Not affected by magnetic field and vibration. Most test switches are installed where there are strong magnetic fields and vibrations, but photoelectric switches are hardly affected by them and can be used reliably.

   (3) High resolution. Light travels in a straight line with short wavelengths and high resolution for small objects and high-precision position testing.

   (4) Various test objects. Almost all metals, glass, rubber, wood, liquids, gases, etc. can be tested.

   (5) Test area for easy access to rules. Photoelectric switches use optical systems that are prone to condensation, diffusion and refraction, such as lenses. According to different test objects and usage environments, products with a certain test area can be selected.

   (6) The response speed is fast. Photoelectric switches contain almost no mechanical action, so a high test speed can be obtained.

   (7) Light characteristics can be used for testing, and color code and shape feature selection tests can be performed.
